Clear Channel (NYSE: CCU) officials say La Preciosa KEGL 97.1-FM will take the place of an all-oldies station. La Preciosa is a radio format that plays music from traditional Mexican recording artists.
Jaime Alejandro, from La Preciosa-San Jose in California, will be the Dallas-based operations manager and an afternoon on-air personality.
Clear Channel airs La Preciosa on several stations in California, as well as Las Vegas.
"This is a significant commitment to serve the Hispanic community in Dallas and Fort Worth," Clear Channel Radio's regional vice president and market manager J.D. Freeman says. "I'm extremely excited about the future of the station."
Clear Channel Radio-Dallas is part of San Antonio-based Clear Channel Radio. It has five FM stations in Dallas: 92.5 KZPS-FM, 97.1 KEGL-FM, 102.1 KDGE-FM, 102.9 KDMX-FM and 106.1 KHKS-FM.
