This summer, Verizon Wireless will present Shakira's "Oral Fixation" North American tour. By leveraging wireless technology fans will have the opportunity to enjoy a unique concert experience. The "Oral Fixation" North American tour begins on August 9 at the Don Haskins Center in El Paso, TX and culminates on September 25 with a performance at the Dodge Arena in McCallen, TX.

In a music and wireless industry first, Shakira will send a multimedia personal video invitation customized to each Verizon user in each city she goes to, inviting them to come hear her play in their local arena. Fans with Verizon Wireless phones will have the option to text or click through to purchase and win tickets. Some Shakira concertgoers will receive a multimedia message barcode ticket sent to their Verizon Wireless phones. When they arrive at the concert, the wireless bar code tickets will be scanned to get them into the show.

The event will take place over four days and will include dance groups and partners who have previously won awards at various salsa meets around the World. This historic event will be held at the Orleans Arena, the most luxurious and modern performance venue in Las Vegas with a seating capacity of over 9,000.

Production of the "1st Annual World Salsa Championship" is headed by renowned producer Rob Beiner, winner of 12 EMMY (R) Awards. Beiner has produced or directed more than 2,000 sports and entertainment programs on public TV, cable, and Pay-Per-View, including ABC Sports, CBS, NBC Sports, USA Network, and ESPN. His successful career as a director and producer includes seven Olympic Games, historic boxing events such as Mike Tyson Vs. Evander Holyfield, NCAA Basketball and Football, the Kentucky Derby, etc.

Salseros will put their dancing abilities to the test at this remarkable international competition in several categories, including individual and group (NY style and LA style), and cabaret/group. Awards will reach approximately $20,000 per division. (CHECK)

La noche del sábado estaba lluviosa y había muchos vacíos en el centro de convenciones Figali horas antes del espectáculo, pero todo fue diferente cuando Juanes, con su guitarra en manos, apareció en el escenario, recibiendo un explosivo saludo de un auditorio lleno.

Juanes arrancó con “Sueños” de su tercera y más reciente producción “Mi sangre” y a la sexta canción interpretó su pegado tema “La camisa negra”, que hizo vibrar el Figali, un centro ubicado a la entrada del Pacífico del Canal de Panamá.

El concierto casi no tuvo intermedios y Juanes interpretó con mucha energía y sin parar una veintena de temas. En varias ocasiones, el cantante pop-rock agradeció a los panameños y a sus compatriotas por haber asistido.

“Estoy contento de estar aquí nuevamente”, dijo el artista antes de poner a gozar a la gente con la “Camisa negra”. La última vez que se había presentado fue en el 2003 en el marco de la celebración del Centenario de la separación de Panamá de Colombia.

El concierto fue parte de la gira “Mi sangre tour”, en el cual el colombiano alterna los temas de “Mi sangre” con éxitos de sus dos anteriores producciones, sobre todo, “Un día normal”, como “A Dios le pido”, “Fotografía”, “Luna” y “Mala gente”.

Los pasajes finales del espectáculo de casi una hora y media estuvieron cargados de romanticismo, con temas como “Volverte a ver” y “Nada valgo sin tu amor”.

Pero también hubo el toque social y familiar en la canción “Tu guardián”.

Juanes continuará una gira por Centroamérica con un concierto en Costa Rica, el 29 de octubre. Luego seguirá a Honduras, El Salvador, Nicaragua y Guatemala, para después trasladarse a Sudamérica con dos presentaciones en Quito y Guayaquil, Ecuador.
